Chapter Six

The hotel he checked into was cheap: stained walls and carpet, dated design, and the residual odor of smoke lingering in the room. Derek didn’t know why he didn’t just get a nice room. He had money. Lots of it now that he was a partner. Something about walking around with bags full of cash made him not want to spend the money. He was only going to be there for a few hours anyway. Maybe it was just an outward expression of how he was feeling.

Sitting on the edge of his bed, he let out a deep sigh of defeat. His cell phone rang, and he answered it, already having a guess who it was.

“Hey there, hun; I hear you might have a rather interesting evening planned. Deliveries and such,” Mrs. Thompson mused. She spoke so delicately and with a smile in her tone that every word came out sexual, regardless of whether they were or not.

Derek looked at his watch and saw he still had an hour and twenty minutes before he had to leave.

“Yeah, in a little bit,” he said.

“I’m sure you’re going to be marvelous,” she said. “Though, I do have an additional stop for you. After your ‘delivery,’ stop by The councilwoman’s place, will you, darling? You know the one… the Mayor’s wife?”

Derek straightened, “Why?”

“Oh, you know. She heard some things about you and would like the company of a fine gentleman such as yourself,” she replied. Her voice dripped with sarcasm, but the silence he hit back with was a powerful one.

They’re not even bothering to hide that they are pimping me out.

After the moment passed, Mrs. Thompson continued. “I know she is not the most desirable of people, but rest assured she finds you desirable. And don’t worry. This is a one-time thing. And if you like, you can stop by my place afterward. I’ll wash you down properly.”

Derek sighed and shook his head helplessly. What did it matter? What’s one more fuck after how far I’ve sunk?

“Okay,” he replied.

“That’s my boy!” she exclaimed with a clap of excitement. “I look forward to you waking me up tonight…”

They hung up, and a few seconds later, he also received a text from her.
