Recognise your good points
As our insecurities come from a distorted, unreasonably negative self-image, it is important to force ourselves to see things positively. Focus on developing your good points – you undoubtedly have plenty of them! Rather than fixating on minor flaws, focus your attention on your physical and mental strengths and draw attention to them.
Exercise
Every morning, look in the mirror and focus on a part of your body that you particularly like or a character trait that you are proud of: your winning smile, your glossy hair, your wide vocabulary, your respect for others, your sense of humour, your determination, etc. Once you have picked a good point to focus on, keep coming back to it throughout the day. Carry out the exercise regularly and try to find a new strong point to focus on each time. This will gradually boost your self-confidence.
