Planting trees in previously forested areas (reforestation) and adding tree coverage to new areas (afforestation) are both pro-forest solutions to the problem of deforestation. Another strategy is to protect and preserve the old-growth forest ecosystems we have left.

The Great Bear Rainforest is located on British Columbia’s Pacific coast and is part of the Pacific temperate rainforest ecoregion.
