Sigourney Weaver in the womb
This is the point where I tell you that Sigourney Weaver is one year, eleven months and three days younger than my mother. When Sigourney Weaver was incubating in a womb of her own, my mother was learning to walk and talk just like her composition doll. In the womb Sigourney Weaver was destined to be a Susan. My motherâs
composition doll, also called Susan, cries if you tip her up at the right angle. In the womb Sigourney Weaver started the cycle of everything. She wrote a list of tasks on a small sheet of paper ripped from one of those little notebooks you get when you start school and used the pencils they gave out at Pizza Hut in the 80s. If you were lucky it
came with a pencil sharpener too. Sigourney Weaver does without but is careful of the lead. Iâm not sharing the list with you because itâs not mine to share. But suffice to say there were some things on there that would be of interest to you if I were to share it. Sigourney Weaver lights a cigarette and sucks on it thoughtfully as the list and pencil
float around in the amniotic fluid. At this point Iâm not even close to existence. But here I am, watching. Itâs just a spaceman cigarette so you can relax. No mothers were harmed in the making of this, except perhaps my own. You mother your own mother and she mothers you. And in that mothering youâre mothering yourself the way you wanted
to be mothered. My mother always had food on the table and made clothes for all the bodies in the house including my dolls. My mother wasnât prepared for me. I was an unfolding box of tricks that just never ended. I was a boy in a girl suit and a depressed hat in a rain storm. Sigourney Weaver, she started out small and got bigger.
