You’ve probably had an opportunity to evaluate the cooling system to some extent when you purchased the tractor or during the troubleshooting operation. Perhaps you even had a chance to start the engine and let it run long enough to see if there were any water leaks, problems with overheating, or traces of oil in the coolant.

Unfortunately, radiator cores tend to clog up with rust, lime, or other mineral deposits, and the fins plug up with weeds, seeds, and debris. In addition, the metal headers often corrode away after years of use, and the seams become moist with residual antifreeze.
