I wouldn’t expect you to be a master at approaching Women on your own. Especially if you have a poor strategy (more on solid strategy later). You will mess up. When I first started I messed up a lot and embarrassed myself so much that people actually loved me. Let me tell you about it…

When I first got into approaching Women, I was given the advice to use an opening routine. It was a question that came with a story called an “opener”. I was told to use my opener over and over again so I could master it. My opener was, “Hey Guys, would you ever date a Guy named Nigel?!” Then I told a completely made up story about this fake Guy Nigel after. I went out every single weekend, often to the same places around my small town, and asked anyone who had a Vagina (and even some Guys too) what they thought of Nigel. I left no survivors.

After a few weeks Girls would finish my story about Nigel for me halfway through my approach. I didn’t realize I was running into the same Girls that I had approached before with the exact same opener. Sometimes I would approach the same Girls with the same line several times. We both got a great kick out of it. They respected the hustle! Eventually Girls would see me out and yell “NIGEL!” They would hug me and chat with me all the time. Others would come up and ask me how Nigel was. He’s doing absolutely fantastic.

Even the doormen at the bars I went to loved me and my wingman. They were always super happy to see us, let us skip the line, and didn’t charge us cover. They respected our hustle so much. How could they not. We showed up time and time again and took consistent action no matter what the result was. We really got out there and did what every Guy wanted but was afraid to do. Hit on Girls! The very “consequences” Guys are so afraid of were actually massive rewards. And we got really good too.

You can now see that mostly no one will notice you approaching a Girl, and if they do, it will most likely be a positive thing. This is elating to know, but it won’t completely rid you of your fear of approaching. Reading everything I have written up to this point and internalizing it will make you way more confident, but there is a whole other half to overcoming your fear and it is scientifically proven to work. It is what we call desensitization.
