Chapter 11

Barrett

His cock was going to explode if he didn’t get inside Eden soon. Instead, he was introducing her to people he’d known his entire life. Folks who owned businesses in town and people he’d gone to high school with. In turn, Eden introduced him to some of the people she worked with at Billings.

After what felt like forever, but had actually only been an hour, he leaned down to whisper in her ear.

“Any chance you’re ready to get out of here now?” She smelled delicious, making it hard for him to pull away.

She turned to face him, her eyes glittering in the tiny Christmas lights that he’d spent hours putting up. “I’ve been ready since the hallway.”

“Then what the fuck are we still doing here?” Gripping her hand in his, he weaved his way in and out of all the people, Eden hot on his heels. As he turned the corner to go through the door, he was stopped by Decker who was near the entrance.

“Leaving so soon?” Decker was trying to hold back a laugh, but failing miserably.

“Did you need something, Deck?”

“No.” A smug smile covering his face. “I just saw you trying to escape and thought I’d fuck with you.”

Beside him, Eden chuckled. “You’re an ass,” he said to Decker. “Now get out of my way.”

He pulled her out into the hallway, Decker’s laughter following them.

“Your family is hysterical.”

“My family is intrusive.”

He was walking fast, and Eden was having a hard time keeping up with her four-inch heels. “Hold on, hold on, hold on.” She yanked on his arms hard, bringing him to a stop. She kicked off her heels, bending down to grab them. “Okay, let’s go.”

Holding the side of her dress in one hand and her shoes in the other, she took off in a light jog. Barrett admired her bare back and silk-covered ass for a few seconds before following her. When she bypassed the elevator, heading down the hallway to the first floor rooms, he finally caught up to her.

“What’s your room number?”

She slowed down and then came to a stop in front of room 137. “This is my room.” In what felt like slow motion, she pulled the key card from her purse and entered it into the door. The second the light turned green, Barrett put his hand over hers on the doorknob, and together they pushed the door open.

He heard the thud of her shoes and purse hitting the ground right before she turned in his arms, gripping the back of his head, pulling it down to hers. Their lips met and for a second, the whole world ceased to exist to him. Eden was the only thing that mattered.

Her hands were busy pushing his jacket from his shoulders and tugging his bow tie off.

“Too many clothes,” she murmured.

He couldn't stop kissing her long enough to help. She consumed him in a way nothing ever had before. She was working on the buttons of his shirt as he backed her further into the room.
