Directions
Add the vinegar, salt and black pepper to a mixing bowl. Whisk until well combined. Keep whisking and slowly add the olive oil. Whisk until the dressing is well combined.
You can substitute lemon juice for the vinegar if desired.
Avocado French: To 1 cup French dressing, add 1 mashed ripe avocado, 1/2 cup finely chopped onion and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Whisk until well combined or add all the ingredients to a blender. Process until smooth.
Bellevue Dressing: To 1 cup French dressing, add 6 tablespoons sour cream and 1 tablespoon minced fresh chives. Whisk until well combined.
