VAPOR POWDER ENFLEURAGE

Shown here is an incense warmer containing resins for “hot” powder enfleurage. Have fun experimenting with this easy method.

After discovering the powder enfleurage information in the book Natural Perfume, it occurred to me that I could make vapor essence powder enfleurage with resins, gums, and woods, using an incense warmer. It’s easy and fun to do, and you can use the resulting powder as you would other perfumed powders. As in all of my enfleurages, I usually use 1 pound (454 g) of powder per enfleurage, but you can use more or less depending on how much of the botanical you have. As with a simplers’ infusion or tincture, you simply keep recharging the powder with fresh botanicals until you’ve reached the scent you desire, or until the powder seems saturated with scent and can’t accept any more.
