The start of the evening went exactly as planned. Sandra attended the dinner, paraded around and flirted in the way she was so skilled at doing, and soon gained her invite back to the infamous after-party. Standing there among the rich and the interesting, she threw her head back and laughed heartily at the terrible joke that had just been told. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched as Harry’s gaze slid down to her bronzed cleavage. Her white gauzy floor-length dress clung to her perfect curves and didn’t leave much to the imagination. With her golden hair pinned up at the nape of her neck, she made sure to draw his eyes to her bare skin as much as possible.

It hadn’t taken long to gain his attention. He was as straightforward a target as Scarlet had promised. Getting here had been easy. Seducing him would be too. Her years as a high-class escort made this part of the job no more challenging than buttering bread. It was later on in the evening that she felt tense about.

‘Can I get you another drink?’ Harry asked, wobbling slightly as he sauntered over.

‘Thank you,’ she said enthusiastically. ‘I’ll have another spritzer.’

‘A spritzer? What about something a little stronger, eh?’ he pushed. ‘You’re barely even tipsy. Come on, you have to try and catch us up.’

Sandra smiled and leaned close to his ear. ‘The thing is, Harry, too much alcohol makes me sleepy. And I really wouldn’t want to be sleepy when you finally get around to showing me the master bedroom.’ She let her fingers rest lightly on his chest for a few moments and felt his heart rate quicken in excitement. Then she turned and walked back to the group she’d been chatting to.

Another thirty minutes or so passed as she regaled the group with stories, maintaining the centre of attention and ensuring Harry couldn’t yet pull her away. She had been avoiding getting to the point too early, as she didn’t relish the thought of having to hide out for too long. After getting the video footage of Harry, there was nothing much she could do until the party was over. Eventually, though, she decided it was late enough and allowed someone else to hold court.

Stepping back, she sidled up to him and pretended to sip at her drink. In truth she was stone-cold sober and had been ditching the wine all night whenever he hadn’t been looking.

‘So, do you fancy that tour now?’ Harry asked, leering down at her in his drunken state.

‘Lead the way,’ she whispered back conspiratorially.

They slipped off from the party, which she noted was luckily beginning to dwindle, and she followed him up the stairs towards the back. They passed several doors, then finally turned into a large bedroom.

‘This is the master suite,’ he said in what she assumed he meant to be a seductive tone.

‘Oh, it’s so grand,’ she enthused, giggling.

‘All the more so for having your gorgeous self in it,’ he replied, coming to a stop in front of her and catching her gaze with his.
