He spied an empty pizza box.

He also spied two empty food containers.

If I had my magnifying glass, I could detect what had been inside these containers! he thought. Then he remembered the slime had eaten his magnifying glass.

And speaking of slime… where was it now?

Henry turned around and jumped. The slime was right behind him, chomping on one of Heidi’s cookies! Henry looked at the nearly empty platter and then looked back at the slime.

They both gulped. “BAD SLIME!” Henry whispered.

The slime quivered and quaked. Its body began to bulge. Then it bounced on the floor like an overgrown bouncy ball.

Boing! Squelch! Boing! Squash! The slime bounced off the ceiling, the cupboards, and the counters.
