BRIGGS
Just when I thought I got through to her, she disobeys me yet again. When I got to her new dorm room, it was still empty. She didnât move in last night like I told her to. Which is why Iâm on my way to her crappy apartment.
Iâm pissed. She is going to get a spanking for not listening. My palm twitches at the thought. Yeah, spanking her ass seems like a good idea.
A few minutes later, I park in front of her apartment complex. I get out of my vehicle and slam the door shut before locking it with my key fob.
Irritated that I have to be here in the first place, I walk inside the building and take the small elevator up to the third floor.
I knock on her apartment door, and a few seconds later, Buck, her roommate, opens it.
âHey, you again,â he slurs. âHere to see Wren?â
âYup.â I donât wait for him to invite me in, or even worse, rope me into small talk. I push myself past him into the living room.
Buck doesnât seem to care much. He closes the door behind us and sits back on his couch to watch TV. I make my way through the tiny apartment into Wrenâs room. I donât bother knocking. I simply turn the knob and push the door open.
Her room looks empty. Iâll give her that much. There are no more drawings or paintings on the white walls. I find her lying curled up in her bed with her eyes closed, but they fly open when she realizes someone is invading her space.
âWhat are you doing here?â she asks with a raspy voice laced with sleep.
âI told you to move into the dorm.â
âI tried.â She points at the half-packed suitcase in the corner of the room. âMy car wouldnât start this morning, and Iâm on my period.â She says it like it explains everything.
âSo? Get an Uber or walk. I told you to do something, and I expect you to do it.â
âCan we not do this today, please? I really donât feel well.â She sits up slowly, and I realize she is holding a heating pad to her stomach. âItâs just the first day. Tomorrow, Iâll be up for your tormenting me again.â
âSorry you donât get vacation days. Get up and finish packing.â
âUgh,â she groans loudly, throwing her hands up in the air. âFine, asshole.â She throws her electric heating pad next to her on the bed and gets up with a huff. I watch her scurry around in nothing but a tiny pair of shorts and a thin T-shirt, while she stuffs her things in the suitcase before zipping it up.
She huffs again, probably realizing that all of her clothes are in the suitcase now. She unzips the thing again in anger, pulls out some jeans shorts, a bra, and a shirt before pausing. She looks at me over her shoulder, and I give her a megawatt smile.
âGo on⦠Iâve seen you naked.â I shrug, excited for the show.
