Amy Carter’s Prank

Amy Carter, President Carter’s daughter, knew all about the White House ghosts. One night she and a friend slept in the Lincoln Bedroom. They waited patiently for Lincoln’s ghost to appear. Sadly, despite all the stories they’d heard, he never showed up.

Then Amy decided to scare some of the staff. She and another girl climbed into a laundry cart filled with linen that someone had left in an elevator. They carefully covered themselves up. The girls pushed the elevator button up to the second floor. When the elevator got there, a White House worker opened the door. The girls leapt out of the laundry basket and yelled, “Boo!” Reports say that the poor White House worker almost fainted … just like Queen Wilhelmina!

The White House is not the only haunted place in Washington. People claim that a lot of other buildings have some strange things going on in them as well.
