1 Ask an adult to help you cut out the pieces of wood, following the diagram opposite. Drill some drainage holes on the bottom. Also cut holes for where you want your plastic pipes to enter the box.
2 Screw together the pieces in the following order:
* Screw sides to base with holes towards the bottom.
* Screw back to base and sides.
* Screw top to base and sides (as photographed).
You then have a box with a top, bottom, two sides and a back, but no front.
3 Take the plastic pipes and scratch the insides with an old nail or, if you can’t do this, run a piece of rope or string on the inside. Both of these ideas will encourage the mammals to climb up the pipes. Push the plastic pipes into the holes on the sides.
