There is no chance this woman is saying no to me.

Absolutely none.

My son is in that bedroom, sleeping.

My fucking son.

I have a son! We have a son!

We did that. Together. We made that beautiful boy.

There's no way in hell I'm leaving this shithole without getting what I want. And what I want is a yes.

I want my family. With me. Always. Ava. Aiden. My family.

The gears are spinning in my head as I watch Ava grapple with her decision.

She's proud. And really fucking stubborn. But she’s also strong. And smart. And determined. I would be an absolute idiot to let her run away from me again.

No. This is it. She's fucking marrying me if I have to drag her down the aisle.

I love her. And our son.

I'll take care of them. And protect them. And spoil them so fucking rotten. They will never spend another day in a shithole like this. They won't ever have to worry about money.

Ava can stay home and take care of our son if she wants. Or go to fashion school.

And we can have more babies. A whole fucking baseball team if she wants. And I’ll be there, by her side, for everything--every doctor’s appointment. Every birth. Every first step. First word.

Anything she wants. It's hers. For the taking.

All she has to say is one three-letter word.

And she will. I won't leave this fucking apartment until she does.

I have loved this girl since I laid eyes on her in fucking algebra class. She dropped her calculator on the floor and it slid under my desk. I picked it up, handed it to her, and fell instantly in love.

I've fucked a lot of girls since then. But I've never loved another.

She was my first.

She'll be my last. My only.

“Caleb...” She shakes her head and covers her face with her hands. They're trembling. Those little hands, now shielding her eyes and cheeks.

Fuck, no. She isn't going to refuse.

I get it. She's scared.

I didn't know about her dad. When we were going out in high school I knew she didn't live with him. But she never talked about him. Never said where he was. And I never asked.

But now I get it. She's afraid I'll resent her.

She's afraid I'll just marry her because I think I have to.

Her voice quakes as she says, “I don't know if you--”

“Stop,” I tell her.

She doesn't know if I love her?

Then I'll fucking show her. I'll show her I love her until there's no way in hell she can question it.

I grab her upper arms, haul her against me and smash my mouth over hers. She squeaks in surprise.

“I love you. Everything about you,” I growl as I devour her mouth. She is delicious and I can't get enough. “Everything.” And her hot little body fits against mine perfectly.

Fuck, I need to touch her. Everywhere.

Cradling her against me, I walk her backward. When we reach the couch I gently lower her onto it, angling over her. I let one hand go roaming, down her neck, lower, over a lush breast.
