7. Wisely answer questions.

In Nehemiah 2:6, the king questions Nehemiah. “How long will your journey be, and when will you return?” Obviously, Nehemiah had anticipated this question and gave the king a “definite time.”

You are not ready to make an appeal until you have anticipated questions and prepared specific answers. Get the facts! Generalities are a sign of lazy thinking. For example, if a donor asks, “How will the money be used?” or “When will you complete the building?”, you must respond with specific answers. To say, “We will use it wisely!” or “Sometime in the next twenty-four months!” is too general. Do your homework.
