Budget and Track Your Expenses

Thanks to the home economics lessons, I also had a simple budget for the year. I knew when the children’s tuition fees were due, what bills I had to pay, etc. Normal monthly expenses could be paid with my salary. Any big-ticket expenses outside of the regular expenses would have to be paid with savings or money from other sources. For example, we could not afford to take a holiday for quite a few years. So I saved specifically for one and it became possible. My budgeting and accounting were on paper and later moved to a spreadsheet on the computer when I could afford to buy one. I still use the spreadsheet format and it gets enhanced every year to suit my needs.
