FEMININE NEUTRAL MAKEUP

Feminine neutral makeup adheres to the same expectations as with the masculine neutral application. Contour must be used to add the shadows back into the face, so the audience can see the performer’s expressions. Always note the size of the theatre before applying this basic stage makeup. The intensity will change given the house size; however, feminine neutral should look natural yet vibrant. Lips do not need to look plain, eyes can look colorful, and cheeks can look bright. The focus of this makeup is to even out the skin tone, round out the features, and soften the face. No matter the gender, the following steps will help visually change the face drawing details away from naturally occurring masculine features.
