“Where is he going?” Fiona asked.

I shrugged. “Wherever he wants to go.”

There was only so much I could tell her about Drake, because half the time he did know what he wanted without a second look back.

I could tell her that Drake was struggling with self-control or the fact he was still at war with his desire for her and his anger at the fact she’d literally disappeared from wolf society for years. He didn’t like not being in control, and wouldn’t I know that. I spent more time talking that damn male off a ledge. Not that he didn’t have reason to be concerned. We were vulnerable being separate, and we were vulnerable without a center. Her.

“Will he come back?” she asked.

I nodded, and Aiden looked up at her, reaching a hand out.

“He will. He is the alpha and understands his duty. He also wouldn’t leave you, no matter how he is acting.”

His mind was shuttered like windows before a storm. What had he done? My wolf sniffed the air and judging by the flush of Fiona’s face, he’d certainly done something. Knowing him though, it was probably pissing her off.

I sniffed the air again. Even if he had, she was obviously turned on by it. At least I didn’t have any pants to restrict my blood flow. My damn cock had its own mind at the idea of her wanting us.

“Fiona, tell us. What can we do for you to help you?”

Her chest rose and fell, and I couldn’t help myself. I licked my lips as her taut nipples pressed against the thin fabric of her shirt.

I can’t believe you let her out dressed like this, I said. My tone amused with a side of possessiveness.

Aiden popped his lips. You try to argue with her.

I snickered.

“What are you laughing at?” Fiona said, sitting on her haunches. Strands of her long blond hair blew across her face, but she didn’t seem to notice or care.

Reaching out, I pushed aside the stray hairs.

I had needed the run. Hell, we had all needed the run. Drake especially. By the scent of Fiona, Drake might have taken other liberties, and a part of me was jealous that I wasn’t here to see it.

I breathed her in, moving closer to her. He hadn’t marked her, and she didn’t share his scent at all. The idea of what he’d done had my cock standing on end.

You smell it too? Aiden’s voice came through loud and clear.

Yes. She wants us, even if she doesn’t trust us, I said.

Aiden sat up and met my eyes. We need to hurry this along, but not at her sake.

There were so many variables here. How far could we push her without breaking her? I looked back at Fiona, her cheeks flushed.

“You weren’t able to shift?” I asked curiously. The scent of her wolf was stronger than before, but still not like it should be. Something was still off. Still blocking her.

In one fluid motion, Aiden was off the ground, and Fiona was distracted from my questions.
