Alex’s phone punctured their passion. The ping seemed one hundred times louder as it echoed in the rocky tomb as if trying to pop the stoppers on the oak barrels.

‘Perfect timing,’ Alex said, reaching for the phone in his chino’s pocket.

‘Leave it,’ Elenore begged and pulled him back towards her affections.

Alex kissed her before reaching back for his chinos and grabbing his phone.

Olivia text: Hi, Dad. No sign of Viv at the house. Harry’s mates said they had not seen him either.

Alex text: Don’t worry. She has probably gone to her parents to spend the £20,000 I gave her, NOT!

Olivia: Dad! Really? Why?

Alex: I did not. Viv just took it out of the bank and gave it to them.

Olivia: Really? Ouch! She cannot do that. Can she?

Alex: Yes, ouch! She can and did even though I said NO!

Olivia: How bad! Hope you get it back.

Alex: Doubt it! I will ask Dylan to call into her parents on the way home from the airport. He lands tonight!

Olivia: Okay. Love you, Dad.
