Logan

Berlin is crazy. I mean, these Germans may look uptight, but get a few beers in them and they go nuts. We arrived at the Church of Techno or whatever it was. The beat was pumpin’ and everyone was dancing.

This was a venue I would excel at! Besides have a kickin’ bod thanks to my regular workouts, I had taken plenty of dance lessons. Not only that, I just liked dancing. You had to have rhythm in your soul to really be a good dancer. My brothers just didn’t have it.

We entered and got a spot. Aiden and I went to the bar to get some drinks. When we realized the bartender didn’t speak English, we waved over Leo so he could translate. As usual, everyone got something different. I wish, just once, that when I went to a club with a group of people they’d just ordered the same God damned drink on the first round. Who gets a Mojito, but with a twist? Who gets a Manhattan, with rocks on the side? Can we all just get a Rum and Coke so we don’t have forty fucking glasses to bring back to our spot?

There was an insane amount of girls in this club too. That was the trick, you see. When you’re with a girl in a club and she takes you where there are plenty of other hot chicks––you’d better pay attention to her. She catches your roving eye on the ass of some other hot piece and you are done. I thought for sure Leo would look away.

Leo played that guy that looked like he didn’t care, but he did. I get that move. I’ve been that guy. It’s much harder to play when you walk into a club with six to one odds to begin with. This wasn’t that play. It was about competing for Elrica’s immediate attention. Aiden, as always, had gotten first dibs.

Aiden was older and smarter. He knew the score. Getting the drinks for everyone gave him the first point. He was on the board and now the rest of us had to play catch up. But I knew that Aiden didn’t really like nightclubs. They were too loud for him and he needed to be able to talk to work is magic. I didn’t talk much, so shouting over the music was fine with me.

Rogan was mostly out of his element here. His usually move in these situations was to watch what I do and then do the same thing with the girl he was with. This time, he was stuck. If he waited until I made my move, he couldn’t do the same thing with Elrica!

Liam was just nuts. There were two courses of action for him. He’d either sulk because no one was paying any attention to him (a bad strategy in the loud club) or he’d do something totally nuts. I think he was dithering between trying his brooding artist routine and whatever crazy thing he was imagining.
