Logan

We portal into the Capital Zone, walking for a few minutes until we reach the immense structure of Greenlife. My lips curl at the sight, knowing Amaya and Faith are in there somewhere, trapped.

A gate hangs open off to the side, leading around to the service entrance. We stealthily make our way around there, trying to keep as innocuous looking as possible. The last thing we want is some nosy passer-by to spot us, we obviously do not look like we belong here.

Avery lounges by the doorway into the building, swinging four passes in his hand, while the guards they belong to lay prone on the floor. “Took you long enough,” he taunts with a savage smile on his face. I’m getting a better read on him though, and can see the fear swimming in his eyes, the silver in them darkening to a stormy grey.

Hunter and Gabe snicker as they start undressing the guards. Before long, we're all standing in our stolen black uniforms with a pass in hand.

We make our way to the door, but a groan catches our attention, and we look at the guards to check if they’ve woken up, but they're all motionless. I turn back to the others, when I hear another moan, which makes me turn again and head in the direction the noise is coming from.

“Logan!” Gabe hisses in warning, but I wave him away to find the source of the phantom moan in the huge skip. Under a bin bag, I can see some legs poking out so I move it out of the way, and gape as Oscar lays there with an obviously broken arm, and a swollen face.

“Shit! Over here! Quickly,” I whisper urgently to the others, and they sprint to where I'm standing, gazing down at Oscar in shock.

“Oh, Oscar,” Hunter breathes, climbing in the skip next to him, trying not to jostle him. His palms glow softly as he directs it into Oscar’s chest. Immediately, the colour comes back into his face and he can opens his eyes, blinking up at us in disbelief.

His eyes find mine and he opens his mouth, “The girls…” he rasps hoarsely, grief swimming through his features.

“We know, Oscar. Thank you. You’re safe now,” I reply gently.

Gabe helps Hunter pull him out, placing him gently on the floor. “Can you stay here out of sight? We're going to rescue the girls and then will come back to collect you.” Gabe gives me a silent look as Oscar’s face drains of colour once again, and his head bobs before passing out.

Hunter checks him over before giving us all a grim nod, “He's okay. Let’s go.”

Avery conceals himself in the darkness, and I can’t help but wonder why he needed the uniform if he was just going to disappear.

Gabe swipes the card in the reader, which buzzes loudly, glowing a bright green. He opens the door with trepidation, looking into the gloomy corridor.

Avery reappears next to me. “I’ve fucked about with the lights, so
