Figure 6.57: Using the sacrotuberous ligament as your guide, glide along the medial surface of the obturator internus until your fingertips come against a soft barrier.

Pectineus (DFL)

With your client lying supine, knees bent up, come in over the thigh and use the long round tendon of the adductor longus as a guide for the ring finger of your inner hand to slide your palm along the inside of the thigh toward the fold at the top of the inner anterior thigh, right beside the the pubic bone, being careful not to overstretch the skin.

Check that you are engaged into the pectineus tissue by asking your client to lift their thigh toward their opposite shoulder while you give resistance with your forearm, enhancing the contraction of the muscle and giving your fingertips a positive ‘bounce’ to ensure your accuracy.
