The other elephant children pressed up close against Grandpa Elephant. Except for Johnny. “And when you come back, will you still play with us?” he asked.

“When you die, you don’t come back,” said Johnny’s brother. “When you die, you go to heaven.”

“To heaven?” Johnny squinted upwards. “And what do you do there?”

“You walk on clouds,” said his brother. “Or you play music with the angels. And sometimes you also visit God.”

Johnny tried to imagine his grandfather on a cloud and had to laugh.
