In the oldest tales, the fairies were said to be born from the fallen angels. According to the legend, as the angels fell from heaven, they landed in various places, and God froze them in place. Some landed in fire, some in the earth, some in water, and some in air. The angels became entangled in the material physical world, and thus the fairies were born.

As noted earlier, the word fairy is related to the goddess of fate, who gives one his lot in life, or destiny. The word fairy could also mean “spirit bride,” when viewed through this word meaning. There were even pagan references to making libido fetishes from the idols of fairies or the fate goddesses in the same way the pagans used idol worship to form a relationship with the spirit. Barbara G. Walker, in her encyclopedia of myths, recounts the following tale.
