She sighed as the pod pulled up the driveway to Abercroft House. Exiting, she entered through the front door, wondering if Rogan was in.

She longed for a bath and then, with a surge of excitement that pushed Larella far from her mind, decided to go for a swim instead. Hurrying upstairs, she changed into a red bikini and descended to the pool room at the back of the house. The room was warm and steamy and the rectangular pool ran the entire length of the house, opposite a wall of windows that looked out toward the landscaped garden.

She sat on the edge of the mosaic tiles, dipping her toes into the warm water then dropped over the edge. As she sank under the surface, the water consumed her senses.

Resurfacing, she gasped a lungful of air and began doing a lazy backstroke across the pool.

She waved her hand and the survision screen came to life on the ceiling. She chose a music channel and started thinking through what she would wear to the end of term party.

A splash sounded nearby and she flipped forward, treading water. Rogan was swimming towards her with a crooked grin.

"Where've you been?" he asked.

"I signed up for my classes," she said proudly.

"Good." He stood as he approached, clearly tall enough to touch the bottom unlike Quinn.

"I like that there's no press on campus but it doesn't make us normal here. Everyone's so starey, I thought maybe we'd make friends a bit easier at university."

"It's only the first day," Rogan said. "After a few weeks, people will probably get bored of us."

Quinn eyed Rogan's handsome face and wasn't convinced. Mandy had practically swooned from the mention of his name and she wondered how some girls would act when they met him in person.

Rogan splashed her with a mischievous grin. "Stop worrying."

She went to reply but a thump drew their attention to the window.

A brunette in a white t-shirt was standing there, pressed flat against the glass, her face squashed on the pane. A rotund girl appeared, scrambling to her feet, evidently having tumbled over the neighbours fence. She wore a matching t-shirt and Quinn spotted pictures of Rogan's face on them.

"Hey!" Rogan shouted, hastily swimming toward the edge of the pool.

The brunette started jumping up and down as she spotted him. "Rogan! Vale! It's him! It's him!"

Anger bubbled in Quinn's chest as she followed Rogan toward the edge. He pulled himself out of the water, revealing his bare chest and a pair of blue swimming trunks.

The second girl, whose t-shirt was stretched too tight over her round belly, slammed her face against the window, cupping her eyes with her hands. "Rogan I love you! Dump Quinn for me!"

"That's it!" Quinn snapped, clambering out of the pool as Rogan helped her to her feet.

"Vale- should I go out there?" Rogan said, running a hand through his sopping hair.

"No way." She hurried along the window and reached the glass door.

"What are you gonna do?" Rogan watched her.

"I'm going out there.
