God doesn’t give us Don’ts to prevent us from having fun—Don’ts are God’s boundaries that enable us to live life to the fullest. Notice how the apostle Paul addresses this very issue in his letter to the Corinthians:

I want you to be free from the concerns of this life . . . I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible (1 Cor. 7:35).

That’s why we have Dos and Don’ts: They help us live pure lives of service to God. But we must be careful that we don’t start thinking of the Christian life as being about what we do or don’t do. The Christian life is about having a relationship with God. Dos and Don’ts are tools that help us maintain that relationship with God and live at the center of His will.

Let’s take a look at some principles from God’s Play-book and consider the Dos and Don’ts we need to put into practice to live in purity.
