PUZZLING ATOMS

Atoms fit together in different ways. Let’s see how many ways we can put a few together.

SUPPLIES

science journal and pencil

scissors

colored pencils, crayons, or markers

card stock or light cardboard (cereal boxes work well)

glue stick

1 Draw the shapes in the picture on paper or cardboard.

2 Color each atom a different color. Use a color related to the element. For example, you could make chlorine light blue because it reminds you of swimming pools.

3 Glue the shapes to card stock. Be sure the glue covers the edges of each of the atoms. Cut out each of the atoms.
