5 Cut a 6-inch wide circle of thin cardstock, cut a slit to the center, and roll it into a cone. Stick it to the tube with duct tape. If you have a detergent bottle lid, stick it in the tube to make an engine.

ASK AN ADULT

6 Take a piece of wood about 5 x 1 x 1 inch and ask an adult to saw a small notch at one end. This will be your launch handle. Loop the elastic band over the notch and pull the rocket back so the elastic band is at full stretch. Release the band from the notch and watch your rocket shoot up into the air.
