45. INFLAMMATION

There are many causes of inflammation: unbalanced hormones, injury, illness, chemicals, and even the food we eat. Usually there is swelling, pain; sometimes redness and heat. Often when one part of the body is inflamed, another part gets inflamed to help out. If you hurt your leg and ignore it, then your hip and other leg will begin to compensate for the injured leg. This is added inflammation your body must cope with, and in time, (if ignored) your posture will become affected as well as other systems. This will place great stress and inflammation on the nervous system. With your nerves now dealing with extra inflammation at the expense of balancing other parts of your body, you will begin to feel sick. Thus, a large part of the body can become inflamed.

A considerable number of essential oils have anti-inflammatory properties. What are also needed are oils that contain therapeutic properties for pain and swelling, and oils that bring nourishment to the nervous system. Clove, frankincense, peppermint, and rosemary may prove to be helpful in dealing with inflammation.
