Spiritual Energy

The fifth and sixth chakras are the locations of spiritual energy in the body. The energies of these chakras are described as having such a high vibration as to lie outside the range of ordinary sense perception. Spiritual energy is an energy you cannot feel in the body of another person through the ordinary sense of touch. Instead, it passes through the body in the same way radio waves do. The way spiritual energy reveals its presence and development in the body is through the things you dream about or see in your meditations.

Dreams of being strangled, usually by a male character, and dreams of a male figure killing people are early signs that your spiritual centers are awakening. Such dreams symbolize the conscious mind, the ego, represented by the male dream character, reacting to the awakening of the higher-energy centers within your body. The higher-energy centers lead you to deep levels of truthful understanding about life. Indeed, one of the functions of the sixth chakra is to turn your understanding of life upside down, turning it on its head, or in the esoteric tradition, “As above, so below.”

There is one part of you, however, that does not want you to reach this level of understanding. This is your conscious mind, the empirical, rational, logical part of you. This is the ego, always represented by a male character in dreams, which upon the awakening of the truth centers in your body becomes threatened by such an awakening and so symbolically tries to stop the process by trying to strangle or kill it. A dream of being strangled reveals the area of the body the ego is symbolically trying to harm, the neck, which is in the area of the fifth chakra. This reveals that the energy of the fifth chakra and the function of the fifth chakra concerns truth—the revelation of truth, the freedom to speak the truth, and the freedom to listen to the truth. The dream of the male figure symbolically killing other people reveals the ego wanting to symbolically kill the awakening of the higher-energy centers within you. Both dreams reveal the same issue.

Dreaming of waterfalls and of seeing the faces of people you know but who have died are additional signs that your spiritual energy has awakened. Dreaming of dead people reveals a connection within you between the three-dimensional world of space, location, and time, and a world without physical form and physical definition. This connection is spiritual energy, which bridges both dimensions. As energy, it is able to pass through your physical body, bringing to you a fuzzy awareness of a reality that lies outside your bodily awareness, outside your normal sense-based reality. Spiritual energy can also be said to be the energy that bridges the divide between the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere of the brain.

Spiritual energy is also the energy that causes you to wake up in the middle of the night with a lightbulb moment of deep insight or intuitive understanding.
