We begin seeing each other any time we’re free. Over the next few weeks, I meet most of Emery’s friends and spend every available minute with my girl. I somehow manage to get through the interview and photoshoot. Wild Templeton and I bond over the experience. Nothing like laying your soul bare and letting a stranger take numerous photos of you to bring two alpha males together. We also have our lovely cuties who rule the roost in common.

“Thank God, that’s done,” Wild groans as we walk out of the photographer’s studio. “I need a beer to get over the trauma.” He looks over at me and raises an eyebrow. “Feel like heading to Hot Shots for a couple of beers?” How can I turn down a chance to make friends with him? As we walk toward the bar, he smirks. “You know, it must be fate that we’re heading to the bar named after the start of your relationship.”

“Fate was me finding the love of my life.” I follow him into the packed bar.

“It wasn’t just fate,” he argues. “I’ve come to realize it’s contagious.” We sit at a table and order two beers. “After Jenna and I met and fell in love, the other girls started catching the love bug.”

“I don’t care how it came about; finding Emery was the best thing to ever happen to me.” I take a sip of my beer. “And I know there’s no cure for what she’s done to me.”

“Yep.” He takes a drink. “Another one bites the dust.” Who knew the brooding businessman was such a romantic?

We end up having quite a bit in common. Wild invites me to his house the next week to watch a game. “Bring Emery,” he offers. “I’ll throw steaks on the grill and the girls can do some girly shit while we hang out.”

That’s how our weekly dinners with Wild and Jenna begin. We decide to alternate between our houses every week. Since I have a huge big-screen television and a pool, we end up hosting our dinners at my home instead of Emery’s. It works out, and we grow closer as I bide my time. I make plans to move my girl in with me. I just need a little more time for our relationship to grow.

During my long work shifts, I think about her continuously and wonder what she’s doing. Every day we’re together, it gets harder to leave her.
