(a)Using Biot–Savart law. The B of an infinitely long straight conductor carrying current I has been calculated using Biot–Savart law in Sect. 4.8.

(b)Using Ampere’s circuital law (or) Ampere’s law. Consider Fig. 4.25. By right-hand rule we know that B is circumferential. We can select dl such that B and dl have same direction. Because of symmetry, B is constant over the Amperian loop in Fig. 4.25 and hence applying Ampere’s law
