When you arrive at the tank you can see a number of Marines have had a similar idea. They have massed behind the tank and wait nervously for it to begin moving. You join them, quickly finding Mike.

The tank’s advance is slow – the rough ground, black rocks and clumps of bushes making the progress difficult. As it chugs forward, it draws gunfire from the enemy. Its cannon sporadically bursts into action, blasting pillboxes and clearing away the enemy.

The ground begins to rise as you climb the mountainside. Rocks are larger and more difficult for the tank to navigate. As the tank’s advance grinds to a halt, a skinny Lieutenant appears and directs you to attack beyond the tank.

Reluctantly, you move ahead, quickly finding safety behind a large jagged, black rock. Ahead of you are five Marines, also hidden in the cover of the rocks. They are laying down fire on an unseen enemy position. You can hear the distant machine gun that is pinning down the Marines ahead.

An hour passes and no progress is made. The Sun is hanging low in the sky and the light is beginning to fade. Finally, the skinny officer appears a few metres behind your position, and shouts for you to withdraw.
