— Cedar. Cedar is similar to sage in that it’s a cleansing herb and also offers protection for a person, place, or object. It comes from cedar trees, which are very old and powerful. It has a pleasant scent and is great for house blessings and to keep away illnesses. It’s best dried and ground up, burned after sage is used for smudging. I’ve often burned cedar incense throughout ceremonies or workshops, especially Morning Star cedarwood sticks because they’re easy to use and transport. You can find them at most New Age/metaphysical stores as well as on the Internet.
