So now we have covered what never to do, it's time to give you my best social media tips which I call my ‘Seven Steps to Social Media Success’.
Seven Steps to Social Media Success
Post once a day. Consistency and frequency is important and the act of simply signing in each day will impact on what the network thinks about you. Take this opportunity to showcase your accolades and news. Show the world how you are scaling and growing your business.
Frontload snippets from original content. If you have taken the time and effort to write a great blog article, then make sure you get real value out of the content and make sure your network has multiple chances to see it. Take key points from your article and turn these into attention grabbing headlines to create social media posts across the period of a month to drive back to the article. Different messages will attract different audiences and you'll also benefit from consistent steady traffic back to your website which will help your search engine visibility in Google.
Connect with partners and influencers. Find, follow, and connect with all of your partners from suppliers, customers, associations, charities, accrediting bodies, print and online publishers, and journalists, to influencers in your industry. It isn't always easy find an influencer who will engage with you and your brand, but the initial steps would be to get on their radar by interacting with their content. There is a far higher chance that they may ultimately work with you if they actually know who you are. I would suggest making at least 20 social media buddies who can really help increase reach for your content. Try setting up informal relationships whereby you offer to interact and comment, like, and share content you deem useful for your network if they do the same. The only condition when finding potential buddies or influencers is that they have a network that aligns to your target market – and if your network isn't as large as theirs, it's probably a good idea to have another benefit to offer them to make it mutually beneficial for both parties.
