"I don't see why," Kira said. "This is my first visit to your planet. I'm not likely to recognize anything. Except your faces, which I've already seen."

"It's protocol," the squat man said. "This is how it's always done." Kira had lost any fear she might have had of these men. "Well, if you're sure..." She slipped on the blindfold. As soon as it was in place the driver threw the lever that slipped the drive belt over the wheel and they took on, rumbling and rattling through the streets.

"Are you sure this thing is going to make it?" Kira asked.
