Chapter Twelve

After making sure that Gee was safe and in her car, I headed back inside the club to finish cleaning up. I hoped that Lauryn and her family were gone because I really wasn’t in the mood to deal with any of them. They pissed me off because they always justified Lauryn’s fuck ups.

I went back inside and found Yana sitting in a chair, rubbing her eyes. I walked over to where she was and bent down to be eye level with her.

“You tired baby girl?” I asked her. She nodded her head. “Did you have fun today?”

“Yes. Thank you, daddy.”

I smiled and kissed her on her forehead.

“Anytime princess. You’re going to stay with Nana and Auntie Trice tonight, okay?”

“Okay.”

“Give daddy a hug and I’ll be by tomorrow to pick you up.”

She jumped off of the chair and into my arms. I hugged her tight, kissed her again and let her go, then walked her to where my mother and sister were getting their things together.

“Thank you, Ma, for keeping her tonight,” I told her as I hugged her.

“Boy it’s fine. I haven’t seen her in a few months, so this is nothing. I mean, I would get more times like this if you brought your ass back down to Orlando,” she said. I laughed at my mother. She held her tongue for nobody.

“You already know why I came back here, Ma. Don’t start that.”

“Yeah, yeah, because of that hussy that calls herself a mother.”

Patrice and I busted out laughing. This lady was crazy.

“What’s your relationship with her?” Patrice asked me speaking about Gianni. “If looks could kill though, Lauryn’s eyes would have sent the poor girl to her maker.”

“Tell me about it,” I said. “That’s Gianni though. I met her a few weeks ago here at the club.”

“What do you know about her?” my mother questioned.

“The little bit I do know, I love and hopefully by the end of the night, I’ll know more. Plus, a few weeks ago, Lauryn and Yana got into a car accident due to Lauryn’s carelessness. I get to the ER and Gianni happened to be the nurse there. That night she treated Yana as if she were her own and made her feel comfortable. Ever since then, Yana has been sweating her.” I chuckled and shook my head. “She’s a nice woman though.”

“She seems like it. I hope she’s the one because Lord knows I want you to shake Lauryn’s dumb ass,” my mother said meaning every word.

“Unfortunately, I’ll never get rid of Lauryn for good as long as Yana is alive.”

My mother didn’t say anything else as she grabbed Yana’s hand.

“Hopefully, I’ll hear good things tomorrow about this young lady.”

“I’m sure you will,” I told her as I walked her, Yana and Patrice outside to the car. I made sure they were in the car and safe then watched them pull off. As I turned around to head back inside again, Lauryn, her twin sister Laura and her mother Linda were walking out.
