“So you might as well tell me everything”

Breathed Robert, in such a low voice, that she was forced to draw closer to hear what he was saying.

“I pretty much have it figured out anyway. So why keep me blindfolded. Oh”

He cried out suddenly, in sharp agony.

“What is it?” asked Charley in alarm, as she leaned over him, close enough to hear his breath that was coming somewhat unevenly from his chest cavity.

Robert tried to sit up again but doubled in pain once more.

“It’s nothing,” He said untruthfully.

“Did he hurt you?”

Asked Charley, knowing full well that her father had done and where the eye didn’t see was one of his specialties.

“Not much” Said Robert wincing and rubbing his ribs.

Charley reached around under his garments, tenderly. She couldn’t feel any breakages, but no doubt there was bruising. Gently she went to reach the water jug.

“This may be cold,”

She said, applying a compress.

Robert stiffened some more.

“You could say that,” He said.

“Here. There’s not much I can do besides say keep that on it and drink some of this for the pain.”

She proffered the whiskey jar up to his lips once more. Some whiskey dribbled down his cheek. She desperately felt the desire to lick it off with her tongue as it trickled down, teasing her deliciously.

He writhed once more, the chains rattling around his stricken torso.

“Sir, are you alright?”

She asked in alarm, as he thrashed around. Charley loosened his gag and pulled it down slightly.

She didn’t know what was happening, one moment he was alright and the next he seemed to be in the grip of some sort of palsy.

Drawing closer to him, she could feel herself turning into some sort of liquid stew. It wasn’t rational. His lips were reaching out, casting around for her, like a landed fish.

Then they met, together, in one moment of melting tenderness.

She didn’t know what had happened, but their kiss was like a bolt of lightning passing through her body. It burrowed into her like some sort of underground rodent digging a tunnel.

It was insane.

This had to stop.

Robert rattled at his chains once more.

She didn’t see that he had nearly gotten his left hand free. He was about to slip out and loosen the other hand, but a grip of passion stopped him, he used the hand to feel around her face, completely neglecting to release himself from the wall, nor to remove his blindfold.

It was too much fun.

In that moment both of them were dancing to the tune of complete madness.

It wouldn’t take much longer for him to get his other hand free; in the meanwhile, they could be-

The ancient door to the cellar creaked open.

Robert froze completely, slipping his chain back on in a trice. Once more he became inert on the floor.

As for Charley, she had leaped about three feet backward. She looked up fearfully, dreading her father’s cold rage. This was it. He was going to actually kill her. No messing around, she felt sure.

The she did a double take.

“I thought I heard a struggle”

Robert also turned his head towards the unfamiliar French voice.
