Anytime you take something personally, including whatever another person did or whatever they said, you make the assumption that it is about you. Taking things personally and making assumptions go hand in hand, and you use them both to assume the role of the victim. Your personal importance becomes so big when you are a victim, because in your story you believe that it's all about you. When you have awareness and you don't take things personally and you don't make assumptions, you find out that you don't need to be a victim, and then you can be free. Nothing anyone does is about you, because they really don't know you anyway, they only know the image of you they have created in their minds.
