We give it an auto-incrementing id field so we can track the code throughout the system. This field is a primary key so we can use it to create our CPT combos and allow individual CPT codes to be referenced on the claim when the providers are selecting the procedures that were completed on a given patient for that day. Figure 9-1 shows the CPT model.
