Chapter 5: Fitness and Exercise Hacks

Weight loss and exercise are two pretty essential elements of our lives, leaving us with better health and thinner waistlines. However! It can be difficult to force ourselves into weight loss action. Look to these remarkable techniques in order to lose weight the easy way and age gracefully throughout the years.

1.Listen to your favorite podcast ONLY when you exercise.

We all have our favorite podcasts, right? They’re a pleasure to listen to. Now: what if you told yourself you were only allowed to listen to your favorite podcast when you were exercising? Don’t allow yourself to listen to it when you’re sitting down. Pretty soon: you’ll start feeling guilty when you are listening to your favorite podcast and NOT exercising.

2.Try the above with your favorite audio book.

Try listening to a book you’re really interested in while you’re exercising—and only allow yourself to listen to the audio book when you’re exercising. This way: you will want to get back on the “horse,” so to speak, in order to listen to the next chapter! Make it a game for yourself.

3.Buy good-looking workout clothes.

When you wear old pajamas to exercise, you won’t feel too amped up next time you step out the door to go jogging. However, if you buy proper exercise clothes and feel like you “look” the part, you’ll ultimately feel awesome. You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world. And you’ll become addicted to the feeling!

4.Download an app like jog.fm.

Jog.fm plays all the music you already have on your phone but makes sure to match your pace while you run. Therefore, it analyzes how fast you’re running, analyzes your music, and gives you the appropriate songs to rev your engine.

5.Create an exercise schedule and make sure to stick to it.

If you create a schedule for yourself even a month ahead of time, you’ll feel resigned to it. You’ll feel like you have committed yourself to something rather than always asking yourself: should I exercise today? Do I want to? You’ll know when your rest days are and when your work out days are. And you’ll see results.

6.Run one minute per day and add an additional minute every day.

If you’ve never run before in your life, try out this unique hack to build endurance. Simply run for one minute per day—adding an additional minute each day. Therefore, you run one minute the first day, two minutes the second day, and three minutes the third day. This will fuel you with motivation to run 30 minutes after 30 days.

7.Run with a partner and talk the whole time.

If you talk and run, you’ll build your endurance as you go. This means that you’re forcing your breath to regulate. Furthermore, it shows that you’re not overdoing it, and it keeps your mind far away from the pain your feet and knees might be experiencing—especially on long runs.

8.Create an “exercise” game during your favorite television show.

Remember drinking games? Drink every time the person says “whatever,” or drink every time someone curses? Utilize this awesome hack to get yourself to exercise in much the same way.
