Unlike previous versions of Kali Linux, dc3dd must now be installed manually in Kali Linux 2019.3. First, we'll update our version of Kali Linux by using the apt-get update command:

Once Kali Linux updates, you can manually install dc3dd by typing in the sudo apt-get install dc3dd command. It is recommended to install dc3dd on your flash drive or SD card before performing any live acquisitions and not do so at the time of acquisition, which may tamper with the investigation:
