Expropriated historical time means: I can discard years from my own life. I cannot keep it as my own. I lose it as it relates to my identity. It was a suspenseful time for me controlled by outside forces. Afterward, I return from captivity and start over again at zero. I lost something, and no one is concerned whether I get it back. Losing historical time is something I wish no one.
I lose time (my train is running late). This is not so bad. Everything balances itself out. I lose time that could be decisive. After falling in love, I should have followed my gut instinct, switched trains, and followed her; that would have changed my life and I missed out. I dedicated twenty years of my life to a company and now the firm is ruined, even though my department was successful. I can disavow those twenty years. At the next station: my people are scattered and I do not even know who is at fault. Another station farther: I cannot orient myself in time. I live in a permanent state of actuality and its influence on me eludes my powers of description. If this perspective toward what created me is hidden, then I am driven to despair. These are all perspectives on the concept of time.
