Instructions:
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F and coating a 9 by 5-inch loaf pan with oil.
Then, whisk the pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, baking powder and salt together in a medium bowl until they are well combined.
In a separate bowl, combine the oil, pumpkin, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla and buttermilk, and then add the dry ingredients to this. Whisk everything together till it is well combined.
Transfer half of this batter onto a medium bowl and then whisk in the cocoa powder and melted chocolate.
Then, start adding the batters to the baking pan. Remember to start with the pumpkin batter and end with it as well. Alternate both batters, the chocolate and cocoa batter and the pumpkin one on the pan.
When done, use a table knife to swirl through it gently lengthwise at least three times.
Bake this for 1 hour, and then check with a toothpick. It should come out clean. Remove from the oven, and leave it to stand on a wire rack for ten minutes. Remove the bread from the pan and leave it to cool further.
Slice it and enjoy with some delicious coffee.
