Password Breaches

According to the 2016 Verizon Data Breach Incident Report, 63% of confirmed data breaches involved weak, default, or stolen passwords and 76% of network intrusions were carried out by compromised user accounts. Looking at some numbers of overall breaches in 2015, the numbers of unique accounts are staggering (see Table 13-1).
