To remove the blade, first pull the pin and count to three, then throw. Just kidding — that's for hand grenades. Once again, hang on to the pin because you'll need it again. And you'll probably need a pair of pliers to get the pin out of the hole. You'll also need to pop the throat plate insert out of the way. A screwdriver will make this task easier.

As with most woodworking machines that have a table, it's always a good idea to keep the table flat. If sawdust gets underneath the throat plate, it can sit higher than the table, causing troubles. When you've got the plate out to change the blade, use a toothbrush to clean out the rabbet the throat plate fits in.
