THANK CHRIST I had today off, because what in the holy hell had I been thinking mixing so many drinks last night? My stomach was twisted up tight, my head felt like someone was slamming it between a door, and though it wasn’t warm inside, I was somehow sweating.

Damn the mai tai. Or was it the Panty Man? Couldn’t have been the scotch. Yeah…definitely the Panty Man.

I groaned and dropped my head onto the kitchen table, the wood cool against my skin, and closed my eyes, but as soon as I did, all I could see was Bash behind my lids. Standing tall over me before doing that move with his hips as he dropped to my lap.

Jesus. I lifted my head and rubbed my eyes, trying to stop thinking about it, because that was all I’d done for hours before passing out.

What had I been thinking? And I was even more curious what Bash was thinking after all that. That I was interested? Just drunk? Did he even remember? If I was feeling this rough this morning, I couldn’t imagine how bad he felt.

The front door slammed shut, and a few seconds later, footsteps sounded on the kitchen floor. Olsen said, “Damn, KB. You look like shit.”

With my head still in my hands, I lifted my middle finger as a response, and Olsen laughed.

“What’d you do, take a shot off each of the burlesque dancers?”

When I groaned at the thought of a shot, I heard him open the fridge door. “So I’m guessing you don’t want hair of the dog this morning, huh? How about some bacon?”

“How about you shut your fuckin’ mouth.”

“That’s the thanks I get for giving you my tickets?”

I opened my eyes to glare at him. “You’re lucky that’s all you’re getting.”

“Yeah, you look like you could really kick my ass right now. Can you even stand up, or did you pass out there last night?” When I didn’t answer, Olsen narrowed his eyes. “Wait, you didn’t just get home, did you? Damn, good for you. You hook up with one of the dancers?”

I’d almost hooked up with a dancer, just not the ones we’d seen. Shit, that realization was more than a little daunting. Seriously, what the hell had I been thinking? I couldn’t even blame Bash for starting it, because I was the one who’d grabbed at him first.

Stop thinking about it. You didn’t actually do anything. It was just the alcohol.

Fuckin’ Panty Man.

“So does that non-answer mean you didn’t go home with one? Wait, who did you go with last night?”

“You’re a gossipy shit, you know that?”

“Hey, I had to go repair my parents’ fuckin’ porch in thousand-degree heat yesterday; you could let me live vicariously through you.” He threw a couple of ice cubes in a glass, added water, and set it in front of me. “Oh shit, you took Summer, didn’t you?”

“Who?” It took a second for my brain to flip on, and then I shook my head. “Oh, that Summer. No, I didn’t take her.
