For the exercises that involve twisting always keep the knees in line with the toes. Do not let the knees twist left or right. This will cause damage.

Meditation Stance

The Meditation Stance is the core of these exercises. All of these exercises start from the Meditation Stance and end with the Meditation Stance. This stance can be held for any length of time before, in between, or after these exercises.

Stand with the feet shoulder width apart, parallel, and facing straight ahead. Make sure the toes are not turned out or inwards. Bend the knees slightly, relax the hips, let the pelvis drop slightly forward and tuck it under, but without using any force. Feel as if you are suspended from above by a string attached to the top of the head. Your body should feel relaxed and everything should hang. You should feel that your spine is straight with your head pushing up and your tailbone relaxed downward. There should be no force used, the body should feel relaxed with all the weight sinking down through the feet and into the ground.
