‘My Way Forward’
‘I wanted to consolidate SIMI in central India. I began devising strategies and making plans. In May 2011, I organized a training camp in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, at the house of Umar Siddiqui. Nearly fifteen men from Raipur participated. Behind curtains, twelve women were also present. My wife was among the women too. It was a two-day camp, where we managed to educate men and women about the fundamental principles of Islam and about the sacrifices made by the mujahideen in Afghanistan and Pakistan against oppressive regimes. We also discussed the history of the Taliban and how an uprising against India was the need of the hour.
‘We had begun spreading our operations to other parts of central India, beyond the territory of the Madhya Pradesh Police. This gave us much-needed relief from the police’s continuous pursuit and also an opportunity to spread our network further. After Raipur, we created a base in Tatanagar in Jharkhand, where we stored all our sensitive documents, laptops and pen drives containing important literature for future sessions and operations.
‘I had read in the newspapers that Diamond Comics wanted to release pictures of Prophet Mohammed in their subsequent issues. Searching on the Internet, we managed to find the address of the editor and illustrators of Diamond Comics and decided to kill them, following a recce. This could serve as an eye-opener for others indulging in similar acts.
‘But before that I wanted to execute another major operation. I asked my deputy, Ejaz, to rent a room in Jabalpur. I ordered four other boys, including Mujib, Aslam and Sajid, to assemble in Jabalpur. We had found a traitor in our ranks. An ex-SIMI member called Sohail was squealing on us. We decided to abduct him, take him to Jabalpur, prosecute him according to the sharia court and punish him in the Islamic manner.
‘I had already drafted a message on email about my Jabalpur plans. The travel dates and other details were mentioned as Operation JP so my colleagues would understand and make appropriate preparations.’
